Waggoner was the first cinematic character I had built since Cayde-6 from Destiny 1. So it had been a while. I was a little nervous to be honest, I hadn't done a head sculpt in even longer than that (probably not since Condemned 2 and Halo ODST) but he was such a cool character! We got a fantastic concept from Ryan Demita who I always enjoy working with and so I went to work. This being the first cinematic character we did for Disintegration I really wanted to set the tone for what the characters would feel like. Telling the characters history through visuals is always important to me and I tried to imbue Waggoner with a sense of place and history. Being a bit of a pack rat he's collected strange bits of tech and odds and ends of comfort and of varying degrees of usefulness. I also spent a while developing the materials for his hair and beard which was really fun as well.
